Two Taxi Drivers Shot Dead

On Thursday night, two taxi drivers were shot dead in Uhříněves. The police have a suspicion that the 60-year-old and 26-year-old may have been murdered by a serial killer attacking taxi drivers. This incident was already a third case of taxi driver killing in or nearby Prague. 1. Dope D.O.D.

Dope D.O.D. is a hip-hop band from Netherlands, who became famous back in 2011, when their first music video What Happened became a huge hit on YouTube. Their debut album Branded is said to be a new step in the evolution of hip-hop music. This week the guys are coming to Prague to heat things up at Blink Excellent club.

Gold Worth 3,5 Million Stolen

On Monday morning, a burglar broke into a jewelry shop in a mall in Olomouc and took gold worth 3,5 million CZK. The burglar did not break the shop windows and the door lock remained undamaged, which suggest a likely relationship of some sort to the shop owners. Bomb in Václavské Náměstí

On Wednesday, an unknown man threatened to explode a bomb in a bank on Wenceslas Square if not given large amount of money. After being threatened, one of the bank workers called the police that arrived at the scene almost immediately. The bomb was secured and securely detonated outside of the city. According to the police pyrotechnist, the bomb was fully functional and could kill within the range of 100 meters. The police are intensively looking for witnesses of the incident in order to identify the offender.



Two Dead Foreigners on a Motorway

Last Sunday, police have reported to have found bodies of a Dutch woman and a Belgian man on a motorway not far from German border. The investigators are working with several versions of what might have caused the death of the foreigners. One of the possible explanations of the incident is a suicidal jump of both from a bridge above the motorway. In order to progress in the investigation, a forensic autopsy has to be carried out.

Pensioner Killed in a House Fire

An 87-year-old woman died during a house fire in Kobylisy on Tuesday. Even though the firefighting unit arrived at the location of the fire within five minutes, they were not able to help the pensioner. A younger woman and a 2-year-old child were successfully evacuated from the building. The source of fire remains under investigation.

During a robbery in a newsstand in Dejvice, a woman facing a man with a knife used an interesting weapon to protect herself: her voice. Her screaming for help was so loud for that the robber was scared and fled from the crime scene. Even though the whole situation might sound rather comical, the robber is facing several years of imprisonment if caught. The moral of the story is to never underestimate the power of your voice in any situation.
